Lawrence R. “Junior” Beach was born June 2, 1934 in Harlan, Kentucky, and resided in Louisville for most of his life. He passed away peacefully on the morning of May 6 under the care of the kind staff of Essex Nursing Home. Junior worked for Carbon Graphite Group for over forty years. He loved working in his garden and caring for his yard, plants, and flowers. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially cheering on their ball teams and spoiling them on holidays. He could often be found smoking on his porch or watching the Kentucky Wildcats. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Lillian Beach; his siblings, Wilma Payne, Evelyn Humphrey, Shirley Beach, Drusilla Coffee, and Jackie Beach; and by his son, Roger Dean Beach. He is survived by his brother, Claude Beach; his four children, Ronald D. Beach, Gerald B. Beach, Angela M. Neel (Mike), and Melody Hulse-Shuler (Scott); his six grandchildren Emily (Shane) Logsdon, Madison Dunn, Lindsey (John) Philpott, Ashley (Alex) Hines, Alexander Hulse, and Raeli Atwood; and his two great-grandchildren, Isla Logsdon and Lillian Hines.
