I was named after my beautiful aunt.  She was such a sweet person and will always be remembered.  She is dearly loved.

I am now living in Alabama and was not able to come to Louisville. I always loved Aunt Laura, and all of you children. So sorry for your loss, she was such a beautiful and sweet Lady. I will remember her always. I love the pictures.

Ma,

I wanted to thank-you and Dad for being the best parents a son could have and for helping me raise Jordan and Dallas.  You two were always there for me and without hesitation if ever I needed anything you and Dad would never say no.  My boys, like me enjoyed all the times we spent with you especially playing ball.  I remember in my youth we would play tennis out in the street and the countless hours we played monopoly and cards when I was growing up.  These were the special times in my life.   I will always remember the stories of the "fighting" Hollenkamps.  Your eyes gleamed with joy each and everytime you told them that we didn't dare tell you that we heard them hundreds times before.  Instead, we listened as if it was the first time because in a way it was because your enthusiasm resonated in your voice each time that it was impossible not to be drawn in the same emotion as you would be.  My favorite one is the one of you and Aunt Dodie being the "loudmouths" of  your highschool in  Charlestown.  The coach would have you two dismissed from school so that you could travel with the basketball team and cheer them to victory.  You two could be heard above the hundreds of home team fans.  I could picture this scene because of the happiness and joy I could see in your eyes while you were remembering it as if it were only yesterday.  Not to mention, that I saw it firsthand whenever you cheered my boys to victory at their games.  
     I thank-you for sharing all your so many childhood memories and for creating a life time of memories for me and for all the times you laughed with us and never at us.  Even during your illness, you never stopped smiling.  If you were hurting, you wouldn't let us know.  "How you feeling Ma?"  "Okie dokie" was always your reply.  You can now rest in peace with Dad and Darrin, your brothers and sisters, and Mom and your father.  Heaven knows you deserve it.  This is a special time in Heaven, not only because it's Christmas time, but because the angel God has spoken about to all the other angels for the past 81 years, the angel named "Laura" has finally completed her journey and is now home forever.  You will always be in my thoughts and prayers and you, like Dad and Darrin will always be with me in my heart and in my memories.  Hopefully, you will be watching over me and my boys just like Dad and Darrin have been and laughing with us and never at us.  Thank-you Ma!  I love you and I always will.
