Larry Davenport

Larry gained his much deserved angel wings on October 12, 2022. He lived a full and exciting life, was known as a hard worker, lover of animals and friend to all that were fortunate to know him. He loved his family above all else and his Mom, Lillian, was his favorite person in the whole world.

Larry was a hairdresser for over 40 years, and worked the last several years at Ky Expo Center keeping the offices clean and regaling everyone there with his wit and humor. Everybody loved Larry!

Anyone that knew Larry for any length of time knew of his passion for country music artists and movie stars. He was Dolly Parton’s and Burt Reynolds’ biggest fan. He actually lived in Florida for a time, breeding, raising, training and caring for Burt’s Great Danes and Chows. He also showed Great Danes for another client at the prestigious Westminster Dog Show in New York.

He always had dogs, mostly Pugs, and cats in his home. Some of you might remember Patti LaBelle, Pia, CiCi, Cassius and Chris the cats.

Left here on Earth to cherish his memory is his brother Wayne, many nieces and nephews, cousins and other family, and too many friends to mention.

A special thank you to Mel who helped Shelia and Wayne take care of Larry, and the nurses and staff at Wesley Manor. A deep appreciation for all of you that called, visited, sent cards and flowers to Larry. He loved all of you.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 19th, 2022, at Arch L. Heady Okolona Funeral Home with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 11:00 am until the time of the service.
