Kevin Carlton Thomas, 61, passed away on June 22 after a 31 year battle with MS. He is preceded by his parents, Gene and Naomi Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty and his beloved daughter, Molly Catherine, who were his constant companions and sole caregivers. He is also survived by a brother, Greg (Diane).
Kevin graduated from DeSales High School and was Manager for Redwing Shoes. He was a Ham Radio Operator, loved to work with stained glass and an avid reader of novels.
Full of fun and humor, he was an outstanding husband and father who filled their lives with laughter and love. It was his sense of humor that carried him through the difficulties of his disease and the hand he was dealt. Not a word of complaint ever crossed his lips. The last two years he was nonverbal and unable to move but he would always manage a slight smile.
We would like to acknowledge his Hosparus Nurses and Doctors for their compassion and caring, friends who were closest and constantly available if needed, and those who would call and ask, "How's Kevin?" which meant so much to him.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm Wednesday at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. His Funeral will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, followed by burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
