Kevin Paul McCreery, 53, of Louisville, KY, passed away on September 14, 2017 at home with his family and friends by his side. He was born February 8, 1964 to the late Melvin and Sharon McCreery in Alma, MI.
Kevin was currently the lead guitarist for Uncle Kracker as well as the singer/songwriter for his original music AvantGardeDog. He was also involved in the local music community with the Velvet Saints, the Griswalds, Dev & Kev, as well as numerous others over the years. Kevin was a completely selfless man with an extremely contagious laugh that surely will be missed. He was an amazing man that had the ability to impact every life he touched. Kevin had an immense love for his daughters who have always been his biggest fans. He enjoyed reading everything from Stephen King to the Bible and at times he would sit in silence and listen to vinyl on his turntable. Kevin spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and he loved sharing his recipes to inspire others.
He is survived by his daughters; Kinley and Lacey McCreery, one grandson; Greyson Cecil, his “adopted” daughter; Madesyn Betz, his sisters; Vicki McCreery (Blake), Stephanie Irish, and Melissa Girard along with his brother-in-law; Mike Blake.
