Katie Marie Buchanan

She was a member of Valley View Church and was a life group leader. She graduated from Manual/YPAS in 2013. Katie was an accomplished dancer for Dance Techniques/ Dance by Trish Studio (12 years) and performed in the Brown- Forman Nutcracker (5 years). She also was a Spokeswoman for Relay for Life, and Speaker for Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Katie loved Jesus with all her heart and was a faithful servant of the Lord. Her beauty and contagious smile drew people to her and reflected Christ’s love. She faced each obstacle with grace, courage, faith and trust in the Lord. Katie was an inspiration to many.

She is preceded in death by maternal grandparents; Bobby and Jane (Papaw and Mammaw) Haydon.

Katie is survived by her devoted parents; Robert “Bobby” and Teresa, loving brother and sister; Andrew and Krista, paternal grandparents; Bob and Susan (Papa and Nana) Buchanan, aunts and uncles; Amy (Bryan) Owens, Robert (Dawn) Haydon, Kurt (Sonya) Haydon, cousins; Wanda, Emily, Megan, Dane, Sarah, Shane, Kailey, Logan, Lucy and Haydon; and a multitude of friends.

Her favorite bible verse was: “Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4

A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Valley View Church, 8911 Third Street Road, Louisville. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 1pm to 8pm, Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd and Monday at church from 10am until time of service.
