Kathy Jo Pence

Kathy Jo Pence,72, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, April 11th, 2025, in Louisville, KY. Born on December 5th, 1952, in Louisville, KY, to her late parents Hasel and Nellie Pence.

She went home to be with the Lord and Savior, her parents, Hasel J and Nellie M (Yeargin) Pence, older sister, Hazel Jean (Jeanie Pence) Hardin that preceded her death.

She is survived by her older brother, James Allen Pence Sr.; nephews, James Pence Jr. (Patricia) and William Pence (Connie); niece, Jodie (Hardin) Warner (Joshua); and of course, her beloved Maine Coon, Sweet Pea. As well as several cousins, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, great-grand nephews and great-grand nieces; and extended work family and friends.

Kathy retired after 30 years from a career of being an X-ray technician. Starting out in Louisville, KY, and finishing in New Port Richey, FL, where she mainly resided until a few years ago. She was an avid animal lover, especially of cats and horses. She honored the title of “Cat Lady” and a huge fan of the Kentucky Derby. She also participated in the Red Hat Society in New Port Richey, FL.

There is no service at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
