Known for her fun, caring, energetic and sarcastic personality, Kathy will be forever remembered by her loved ones.
Kathy spent her life cherishing the simple pleasures. She loved to indulge in her favorite foods, which included Chocolate Ice Cream and Chocolate Pudding, often accompanied by a refreshing glass of sweet tea. Her laughter often resonated in the family room, as she enjoyed episodes of her favorite TV show, SVU (Special Victims Unit) or watched her beloved movies; The Polar Express and The Grinch. Her love for art was evident in her enjoyment of Country Music, often playing in the background while she engaged in her favorite recreational activity, Cross stitching. A fan of the Louisville Cardinals, Kathy eagerly anticipated each game, her family beside her, cheering on her favorite team. A lover of the game Phase10, she often gathered her friends and family for a friendly round, her competitive and joyful spirit filling the room.
Kathy's favorite way of staying active was simple, a peaceful walk, often taking her through the beautiful nature. The memories made on family vacations with her children when they were younger are some of which they will forever cherish.
Kathy was a mother who is remembered as a vibrant and fun-loving woman who brought laughter and joy into every room she entered. Her playful spirit was infectious, and she had a knack for turning even the simplest moments into cherished memories. Whether she was cooking in the kitchen some of the kids’ favorite meals or organizing impromptu sock parties or family game nights, she had a way of making life feel like one big adventure. Her zest for life was evident in everything she did, from her contagious laughter to her endless enthusiasm for trying new things.
As we reflect on her legacy, we are reminded of the importance of embracing each day with a sense of playfulness and spontaneity, just as she did. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched with her warmth, humor, and boundless love. Kathy's bright spirit and unwavering love for her family and friends will be greatly missed. Her spark of life will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of joy, solidarity, and love.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Joan Saling.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jessica King & Gregory King; her granddaughters, Jadyn King & Olivia McHargue; plus, a host of other relatives & friends to mourn her passing.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home - Okolona. Kathy will be laid to rest in the Mausoleum of the Last Supper of Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Hour of 12:00 p.m. also at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home - Okolona.
Per Kathy’s wishes, cremation was chosen.
