Judy Kay Johnson

Judy Kay Johnson, age 84 of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father at Traditions at Beaumont on March 28, 2023 with loving family by her side. Judy was born on February 22, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to Rudolf and Virginia Elisa Wittwer Mathys. She was a first generation from Basel, Switzerland. Judy was a graduate of Fern Creek High school, class of 1957, then attended a business training course. She retired after 43 years as a supervisor at the Celanese Company. Her lifelong love was endless shopping, collecting hallmark ornaments, antiques, and she enjoyed watching and feeding birds and squirrels from her kitchen window.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Marjorie Gentry, Virginia Eloise Stallings; brothers, Rudolph Lee and Frederick (Fred) Mathys; nephew, Allen Gentry; and her precious dog Ginger.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Verna Cooper; stepson,Jason Johnson; stepdaughter, Kelly Gajiwoski; nieces, Debbie Wilson, Janice Bleemel, Gale Etherton, Cheri Johnson, Sue Pate, Michele Raymer, and Angela Snook; nephew, Wayne Gentry; and several great-nephews and great nieces.

A visitation in Judy's honor will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, Kentucky 40218 on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 10AM-2PM. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
