SHARP, Juanita Stone, 86, passed away on Saturday, February 11 at Windsor Gardens Nursing Home in Bardstown, with her family at her side. A native of Bardstown, she had returned in recent years after living most of her life in Louisville.
Juanita dedicated her life to her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a lifelong member of Shawnee Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and a member of the St George Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Paul Clayton Sharp; her parents Bryan and Lillian Stone; sisters Catherine LeClear and Mildred Crume; and brother Bryan Stone Jr.
She is survived by sons Paul Sharp Jr. and wife Choyia of Louisville, David Sharp and wife Karen of Plano, TX and daughter Etta Sharp Cheatham and husband Dan of Bardstown. She is also survived by grandchildren Tammie, Garrett, Graham and Collin and her great-grandchildren Codie and Devon. Survivors also include sisters Arbutus Hall and Beulah Shewmaker; brother David Stone; two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Juanita’s life will be held at 12 pm Tuesday at the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Monday and after 11am Tuesday. Online condolences @ www.archlheadysouthernfh.com.
