Joyce Elaine Finn

Preceded in death by her husband, William Finn, and her parents John and Annette Fleitz.

Survived by two daughters Cindy Foote (Curtis) and Dawn DiChiara (Chuck); four grandchildren, Alexandra Rison (Robert), Ryan DiChiara (Sarah), Maxwell Foote, and Elisabeth DiChiara; three great grandchildren, Barrett Rison, Anniston Rison, and Emmett DiChiara; and her dog, Bella.

Joyce was a member of the Daniel Boone Post #1 Amvets Auxiliary for 50 years. Joyce loved her work as a Teaching Assistant at Indian Trail Elementary School where she retired in 2000 after 25 years. She also volunteered at the UofL Hospital Surgical Services desk for 18 years.

She enjoyed the beauty of nature, from sitting on the beach for hours, to feeding the birds and squirrels in her backyard. She loved shopping with her girls, solving puzzle books, and watching game shows. She will be so greatly missed.

A service to celebrate Joyce’s life will take place on Friday, December 8th, at 10 AM, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road. Friends and family are invited to visit on Thursday, December 7th, from 2 PM to 8 PM, at the funeral home. She will be entombed in Resthaven Memorial Park following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Joyce’s honor to the Kentucky Humane Society.
