Joseph Lewis Pendley

Joseph Lewis Pendley, known to friends as “Joe” and to our family as “Dad” and “Pop”, at the age of 88 passed from this life on Sunday, January 1, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born October 4, 1934 in Hopkins County, KY to Louis and Ruth Pendley. He was preceded in death by his wife Rhoda of 53 years, his son Joey, his parents; and brothers Connie, Cal, David, Glenn, and Bob Pendley, as well as his sister Virginia (Gin) Rogers.

Joe was a master mechanic. He worked for Clark Diesel for many years until he became owner of Bowling Green Diesel Service and was sought out far and wide for his mechanical expertise before he retired. He was a very knowledgeable man that many looked up to for not only professional advice but also life lessons. He was not only the patriarch of our family but the person we all should strive to be.

He is survived by his daughter, Dianna (Jeannie) Pendley, son, Mike (Melissa) Pendley; grandchildren, Matthew, Charla and Micah, and eight great grandchildren; siblings, Danny (Sandy) Pendley, Carrie (Charles) Riggs, Peggy (Marvin) Phillips, and Etha Webb.

Visitation will be Friday, December 6, 2023, 2:00 pm-7:00 pm and Saturday,, December 7, 2023, 10:00 am-12:00 pm with services at Noon at Evergreen Funeral Home in Louisville, KY
