Butch was a devout Jehovah's Witness where he dedicated his life by baptism on September 9, 1961 and a brother in the Jeffersontown Congregation where he shared his faith by field ministry. Through the years, he worked on many Kingdom Hall projects and enjoyed spending time with his spiritual brothers and sisters.
He will be remembered for his love of gardening, collecting an assortment of antique John Deere tractors, skeet shooting, hunting morel mushrooms, and many considered him the toughest to beat in a game of Rook. He also played softball and rode motorcycles in his younger years.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Annie Peterson-Cornell (Jeremy), and Karen Coleman (Brian); a son, Joe House (Monica); three granddaughters, Whitney House, Adrianna DeWit, Savanna Seng; four grandsons, Wyatt Peterson, Jacob House, Levi DeWit, Michael House; one great grandson, Alexander DeWit; two sisters, Bonnie Kay Abramhamson, Anna Ruth "Pete" Burkhead; and one brother, Gary Kenneth "Bud" House.
He was preceded in passing by two sisters, Patricia Joy "Pat" Brinley, and Mary Sue "Suzie" Cornell.
A visitation will be held Sunday January 15th, 2023 from 2 to 8 pm and Monday January 16th from 10 to 12 pm at Arch L Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road. A service to celebrate Butch's life will be held following the visitation at 12 pm on Monday, officiated by Brother Kris Sciberras. He will be placed at his final resting place at Resthaven Memorial Park.
