Born on Saturday, January 11, 1930 in Louisville, Kentucky Joseph was the son of the lates’ Charles M. Hosea & Kathleen Mulrooney. He attended the University of Louisville, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, he later worked for L & N Railroad doing clerical work & was with Ford Motor Company for over 17 years where he worked in Logistical Services. Although very humble, he served in the United States Army as a Private First Class Ordnanceman. Joseph was a dedicated lifetime member of St. Rita Catholic Church. He was a World War II enthusiast, formerly having a knife and gun collection, a passion for airplanes & was very knowledgeable regarding military history. He also played alto saxophone. Later in life, Joseph had a knack for carpentry and building things. He was taught by his father, being able to build an addition on the home & construct numerous model planes & aircrafts. He above all loved his family, helped so many family members & adored his wife, Anna Mae, who preceded him in death after 60 years of marriage. Joseph lived a full life! A life – well – lived!
Besides his parents, Charles M. & Kathleen Hosea; his wife of 60 years, Anna Mae Hosea; & siblings, William Hosea & Juanita Campbell precede Joseph in his passing.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Susanne Watson, Patricia (John) Hoffman & Robert K. Hosea; grandchildren, Erin Spalding, Phillip Coffey & Rachel Walker; great – grandchildren, Cyerra Topps, Anna Spalding, Grace Coffey; Xavier Coffey & Sarah Walker; many nieces & nephews; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church. Following Mass, Joseph will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park, where he will rest alongside his wife, Anna Mae, for eternity. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home – Okolona Home.
In lieu of flowers & customary expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be directed in memory of Joseph to Food For The Poor or M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).
