Joseph Randall Hamlet, 84, of Clarkson, KY, (formerly the Point in Louisville, KY), passed away on Sunday March 26, surrounded by his loving wife and his two daughters. He was born in Louisville, KY and raised by his mother, Mary Agnes Bowman Hamlet Bishop and his father, Robert Estes Hamlet on the Point. He retired from Fischer Packing Company after 28 years of service. He was a 50+ year member of Shawnee Lodge 850 F & AM.
In his younger days, Joseph Randall loved to hunt as much for the enjoyment of just walking the woods as anything else. He was the most wonderful, kind, considerate, and amazing husband, son, father, grandfather and friend. He was admired by and touched so many people. His kindness made a difference in the world surrounding him.
He was preceded in death by mother, Mary Agnes Bowman Hamlet Bishop; father, Robert Estes Hamlet, brother, Benny Patrick Hamlet; and sister, Terri Lee Hamlet.
He is survived by his proud and adoring wife of 30 years, Wanda Joyce Devine Hamlet; two daughters, Mary Lou Hamlet and Joann Hamlet; sister-in-laws, Dovie Ann Campbell Hamlet and Anita Fay Russell; brother-in-law, Jerry Lee Devine (Cecilia); grandson, Gary Wayne Luxemburg, Jr.; granddaughter, Cindy Ann Sears (Mike); great-grandsons, Michael Scott Sears (Sabrina) and Eric Eugene Sears; great-great-granddaughters, Emmerson Grace Sears and Ellionna Mae Sears.
His funeral will be on Saturday, April 1st, at 2pm, at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment being Monday, April 3rd at Bethany Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Friday, from 2pm until 8pm and Saturday from 10am until the time of service.
