Joseph Edward Dawson

announces his passing on June 28, 2024. Heaven’s light grows brighter

and Earth is left a little darker. Eddie was a retired Meter Reader for

Louisville, Gas, and Electric where he worked for 44 years having a

reputation as a quality employee. He also frequented Graduates of Valley

High School gatherings and met with other retirees from LG&E for

breakfast each week. Eddie was an attendee and actively involved at

Southeast Christian Church Southwest campus where he loved others and

was deeply loved.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carol Ann

Dawson, mother and father, Dorothy and Elmer Dawson, brother, Jerry

Dawson, sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Wayne Thieneman.

Eddie is survived by his three sons Keith (Kristen), Jimmy (Tammi), and

Kevin (Stephanie), five grandchildren Shelby, Matt (Abby), Courtney

(Lawson), McKenna, and Kaleb, one sister Sue Vuick (Rod), two brothers

Gene Bolin and David (Susan) Dawson, and a sister-in-law Lillie (Jerry)

Dawson. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews who loved him

dearly. Special mention to his other 3 “sons” Kyle, Matt, and Kent Hammer

(Jim & Karla) who he helped his Carol in providing child care.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the caregivers

at Hosparus of Louisville who provided such excellent and loving care. In

lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Eddie Dawson can be made to

Hosparus of Louisville or donations to the Southwest campus of Southeast

Christian Church.
