Farmer, John Edward, Jr. (Eddie), 83, went to his heavenly home on July 2, 2017, with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Annetta (Crump) Farmer. He was an amazing father to his two children, John E. Farmer, III (Nancy) and Lynette Farmer Buckman, and they will miss him dearly. “Popaw” cherished his five grandsons, DJ Nichols, Trevor Nichols, Ryan Buckman, Jack Farmer and Dean Farmer. He is also survived by his two faithful brothers, Don Farmer (Norma) and Joe Farmer Sr. (Carol); nieces, LaDonna and Sheri; and nephew Joe Jr. Eddie also loved and was loved by the entire Crump family.Eddie was a Christian and a member of the Larchmont Church of God, where he was best known as the "Candy Man". He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, retired from LG&E, and loved coaching Beechmont Little League Baseball and Soccer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Frances Farmer; one sister, Mary Frances Farmer; and one niece, Mary Jo Morton. His passion was his family! A service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held at noon on Friday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Interment with military honors will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Thursday.
