Born on July 23, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky she was the daughter of the lates’ Fred Lewis McGraw & Mary Elizabeth Bolton. She was a former Gift Shop Clerk for Ringling Museum, a Physical Therapist for Baptist Health & CNA for Our Lady of Peace Hospital. Although her personal walk with Christ was a key part of her life, her world revolved around her precious children. Still raising them until her passing. She loved playing cards and working puzzles as well. Joan lived a full life, a life well lived.
Her parents, Fred Lewis & Mary Elizabeth McGraw; husband, Manley Owen Kirtley; son, Rodney Earl Kirtley; infant – son, Manley Owen Kirtley, Jr. & great – grandson, Christian Sullivan preceded Joan in her passing.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kay Kirtley – Kane, Cecil (Rosemary) Kirtley, Fred Kirtley & Charles Randall (Debbie) Kirtley; 11 – grandchildren; 20 – great – grandchildren; 1 – great – great – grandchild; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
In lieu of customary expressions of sympathy & flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Downs Syndrome of Louisville or the Kosairs Kids Center.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Funeral Home with a Time of Remembrance beginning at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private in the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums.
