Joan P. Kaiser

Joan was born at Terrapin, Mercer County, KY on May 24, 1939 to the late Marvin Rayford Poulter and Marjorie Opal Burton Poulter. She was a member of Okolona Christian Church.

Her passion was serving the Lord by teaching 4- and 5-year-olds, serving in the Meals of Mercy Ministry, and Guest Services Desk. She enjoyed Bible study by being a part of the Seniors for Christ Class and several small groups. She was part of the senior group at church, Young at Heart, taking day trips. She loved spending time with family at holiday gatherings and Birthday Adventures with her four grandchildren. She enjoyed family summer vacations in Gatlinburg, Florida beaches, several Toby Tours. Her favorite Toby Tour trip was taken to Montana with a group of friends from church. She worked for Stewarts and Brown and Williamson before becoming a homemaker. After raising her children, she began working at Playworld Child Development Center for several years before retiring in 1994. She enjoyed sewing, counted cross stitch, reading, gardening, and listening to Southern Gospel music.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald and siblings Marvin, Charlotte, and Maurice. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sonya A. Kaiser and Tim R. Kaiser (Emily); four grandchildren, Stephen, Jared (Marin), Colin (Kiana) and Laura; a brother, Max Poulter (Joyce Holland) and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home Bardstown, Rd. Louisville, KY 40218, from 11AM-2PM on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023. Funeral service will begin at 2PM following visitation on Wednesday. Joan will be laid to rest privately in Resthaven Memorial Park.
