I truly had the best mother-in-law in the world!  She took me in like I was one of her own.  Her beauty, smile and laughter will forever remain a special memory for me.  Two months before our wedding, she took me in and our special time together was always on Friday night.  From listening to Barry Manilow to sleeping by the fireplace was a wonderful time and something we looked forward to.  The most important attribute of this beautiful mother was that she raised a wonderful son who I have spent 30 years with because she molded him and he truly possesses of her wonderful characteristics! I love her for this and I am going to miss her from the bottom of my heart.  I was so lucky to have shared in her life.  I love you Joan.

It's strange how little an obituary illustrates how wonderful a person REALLY was. I never realized it until now...there's just not enough space! It's nice to see everyone's elaboration on how special they thought my grandmother was.  There are no words to express how much she impacted my life.  I spent countless hours with her as a little girl; dancing to old music, playing, tanning in her backyard, trimming her yellow roses and riding around in her white miata.  And then I was fortunate enough to have her move in with our family for most of my adolescence.  She was there for every big event in my life thus far.  Even while in college, I'd call her at least every other week and we'd spend an hour or even two just talking on the phone.  Joan and the phone! Her wisdom, friendship and love that I got so used to receiving all these years will be irreplaceable and the hole in my heart unfillable, because no one can replace such a spectacular and special woman who made a spot that's just "Gaymoo" sized. 

Grandmother - as I've been making the slideshow for tomorrow...I've gotten to look back on some amazing memories, ones I'm in and ones before my time.  You had a fun filled, wonderful life, full of people who adored and loved you. I hope you'll watch it and remember how special your life was.  I love you so much.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom.  She touched my life during high school and was always so kind to me.  I can still hear her wonderful laugh and see her smile.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all because she was a wonderful mom that will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother.  We lived across the street from your family on Glen Arbor for many years and I was always a bit in awe of her, being one of the few mothers I knew at the time that actually had a career outside the home.  My mother (Shirley) and I spent some time reminiscing about the old days in the neighborhood.  A particularly vivid memory for both of us was "Supper Club," when all the ladies in the neighborhood would don their long dresses and walk to the home of whomever was hosting the evening.  I hope you all find comfort in the wonderful memories you have.

To my wonderful and beautiful Mom. I will miss you more than you could ever know. As a single mom, you made so many sacrifices for me. Only as I grew older could i appreciate what you went without so I didn't have to. You were always my biggest cheerleader and I know you still are. You taught me manners and made sure I used them. You gently reminded me when I was not using them, like waiting until I opened the door for you..classic Joan :-). There's so much more I'm grateful for, but mostly that you were MY Mom. I love you so much and I can't express how much I already and will always miss you.
