Gerald Patrick “Jerry” Bowman, 82, died Friday, November 4, 2016. He was born March 13, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joseph Leonard and Mary Evelyn (Shirley) Bowman. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Rose Bowman and his 6 siblings. Jerry was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, a 1952 graduate of St. X, a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, and retired from Bell South after over 40 years of service. He enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, playing bluegrass music, going to car races and the drive-in, and loved dogs. The thing he enjoyed most in life was his family and his kindness and love will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Joe (Sherri) Bowman, Rob (Becky) Bowman, and Lisa (Teddy) Ross, grandchildren, Tara, Joshua, Heather, Brittany, and Jeremy, and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at Arch L. Heady and Son Southern Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3601 Taylor Blvd. His Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 am Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, 2914 S. Third St. with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
