She is predeceased by her father, Guy Nicholson Sr. her mother Ruth Nicholson, her Brothers GW and Bobby, and her husband Robert G. Turner. She is survived by her sister, Debbie Harmon, her daughter Melanie Turner Harden (husband Jamie), her daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Turner Diecidue (husband Anthony), and her grandchildren: John Battle Harden, Ellee Harden, Turner Harden and Olivia Diecidue, Julia Diecidue, and Lila Diecidue. She was born and raised in Louisville, KY and married her high school sweetheart, Bob. She graduated from Manual High School (he went to Male…there was lots of banter about this!) She worked as a secretary at Brown and Williamson, helping to put Bob through college and graduate school. She moved to Tallahassee, FL when Bob joined the College of Business at Florida State University as a professor. While they anticipated a short stop in Tally, they ended up creating a home; they raised their girls there and were active members of the community. Jenny was quite the FSU football fan and followed the program closely. She was an avid tennis player at Killearn Country Club when she was able. After Bob’s death in 2004, she moved to be closer to her daughters in Tampa. She lived in a retirement community and made many friends. She was the best card player around and even enjoyed online card games for many years. With Scotch roots, she could be known to be stubborn. She most assuredly was smart and strong. Most of all though, Jenny was a devoted wife and excellent mother. She raised strong daughters. Her illness prevented her from being the active grandmother she wanted to be, but her grandchildren cherish the time they had with her. We rejoice in the fact that on Valentines Day, Jenny joined her one true love in Heaven and in doing so released the burden of a malfunctioning body. Her soul is free with the Lord.
Visitation will occur on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 1-3PM with a funeral service to begin at 3PM. All Services will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218.
Jenny will be laid to rest in Hawkins Cemetery in Smith Grove, KY.
