LOUISVILLE - Jennie “Elizabeth” (Lewis) HITE, 102 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away at the hospital on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. We want to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Aides at Hosparus, Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Anthology of Louisville for the kindness, caring, and love they gave her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Leon Hite, Jr., of Louisville, her parents, Stith Lewis and Bertha Young (Sprowls) Lewis of Buffalo Kentucky. She is also preceded in death by sisters, Estelle Peterworth (Pete), Edna Skaggs (Jimmie), Jane Lewis, Jean Willian and Doris Hancock (Wilby).
She is survived by children, Arthur Hite (Judy), Betty Graham (Gary) and Janet Dehart (Harold - recently passed), her grandchildren, Jason Hite (Amy), Julie Angel (Dennis), Anthony DeHart, and Michael DeHart (Amanda), 5 great-grandchildren, many step-grand and step-great-grandchildren and her sister, Nancy Akers (Samuel-late) and many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business College and was the secretary for some of the Homemaker Clubs and Sunday School Classes and for many years tabulating the checks for church contributions. She was a loving and fun spirit for the whole family and enjoyed baking for family and friends. She even took dishes to potlucks in her nineties. Her Christian Faith, Church family and friends were a great comfort and enjoyment for her, particularly luncheons and trips. She enjoyed many crafts, sewing, and reading. She also enjoyed senior activities such as Triple L (Live Longer and Love It!) and Middletown Seniors.
There will be a private burial at Resthaven Memorial Park with a Memorial to be announced later. Expressions of sympathy can be made to:
