Visitation will occur Thursday June 6, 2024 from 11 am - 2 pm at Arch L Heady at Resthaven, with funeral service beginning at 2 pm. Burial to follow afterwards at Resthaven Memorial Park
She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Paul and their two children Doug (Patty) Watson and Paula (Darrell) Cox along with grandchildren Chrissy (Bryan) North, Jesse Watson, Emily (Chris) Hatzman, Libby (Matthew) Volpert, and great grandchildren Easton, Emersyn, and Brenna.
Jeannetta was born in Morehead, Kentucky and is a graduate of Haldeman School and Morehead High School. After getting married in 1954, she and Paul started a family and moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1955. Once settled in Louisville, she worked for General Telephone Company then served as a crossing guard for Bates Elementary School for 24 years before retiring. While she was very fulfilled by her work, she found true purpose and joy in being “Mammaw” to her grandchildren. To the four of them, she was an expert at making the ordinary extraordinary. Her home was a warm refuge full of love and the kitchen counter never went without a cake waiting to be enjoyed, a full vase of flowers or a hand-written card from a friend. Her life was a blessing, and her memory a treasure.
Her family would like to thank Dr Zhong, Phyllis and Pam and all the amazing staff at CBC. The care she received was truly extraordinary and “thank you” will never feel adequate.
