Janis Lee Miller Carter, 80, entered into eternal rest on February 4, 2015. Janis was a retired senior financial accountant for the Louisville Water Company. She was the treasurer of Maple Grove Baptist Church for 13 years, secretary of Bethlehem Baptist Church for 6 years, and a member of the Board of Directors of Leisure Life RV Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Belle Jett Miller; and brothers, Roy Miller and Charles Milton Miller.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Arthur Dale Carter; daughter, Cindy McFarland (Kenny); 3 grandchildren, Joshua McFarland (Lela), Andrew McFarland (Lauren), and Caleb McFarland; 4 great grandchildren, Jovey, Laney, Aiden, and Amelia; brother, James D. Miller (Peggy); and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday at 2pm at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday from 2pm-8pm at the funeral home. Entombment at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to Hosparus of Louisville.
