Janet Calvert, 85, of Louisville passed away Wednesday December 4, 2013. Born in Louisville to the late Jimmy and Annie Timberlake Bray, Janet was retired from Centerfield Elementary School in Oldham County.
Janet had a great love for children, teaching, and cats, was a member of the DAR and was an accomplished organist and pianist. She had been a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church choir, and helped to establish North Oldham Baptist Church, she was currently a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Ms. Calvert was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Calvert, the love of her life, to whom she was married for over 50 years. Janet is survived by her cousins, Betty Edwards, Mitchell Timberlake, Bill Timberlake and Frances Hahn, and host of very dear friends.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be 2pm Friday December 6, 2013 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with visitation 2 hours prior to the service.
