Jane L Wilson

Jane was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Ed and Elizabeth “Lib” Abell. She attended Assumption High School (1961). She married her husband Frank on May 8, 1965. During her husband’s military service, they lived in Kentucky, Germany, Tennessee and Georgia. She worked as an optician for 20 years before retiring. Jane and Frank enjoyed to travel, taking trips near and far. They loved to share their experiences with friends and families. Jane was the oldest of nine children, this experience definitely helped to develop her desire to ensure others were welcomed, entertained, and led. Jane was involved with the Council of Catholic Women (Ft. Benning and Columbus, GA), American Business Women’s Association-Derby Chapter, Ascension 50Something Club, Hikes Point Area Business Association, and the Society of Dispensing Opticians of Kentucky. She served as the President of the CCW at the Parish and Deanery level, was women of the year for the ABWA-Derby Chapter and inducted into the Assumption High School Hall of Fame in 2007 along with her HS principal, Sr. Mary Prisca Pfeffer, R.S.M.

Jane is survived by her sons Frank (Dawn) and Dave; grandchildren, Stephen (Alex), Mike (Nicki), Khara (Andrea); great grandchildren, Chloe, Alyssa and Connor; and her siblings, Cliff (Betty), Beth, Sally (Dennis), Mary (Ed), Evy, and Dicky (Paula); numerous nieces and nephews who love Aunt Jane; and her friends and classmates who she saw as family. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank and her brothers Rocky and Johnny.

A visitation is scheduled from 1pm-8pm on Monday, March 20th at Arch L Heady Funeral Home at Resthaven. Vigil Service will be at 6pm.

The Funeral service will be at Church of the Ascension on Tuesday, March 21 at 10am. Graveside services to follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
