He was preceded in death by his father and mother, sister, two brothers, all of his aunts and uncles, and all of his cousins. He is also preceded by his son, Danny, age of 59, and his wife, Joyce, of 60 plus years at the age of 80.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca; grandsons, Brian, Travis, and Parker; and great-grandson, Easton.
In his youth, he loved to hunt and fish. He was a KY Colonel, a member of the Washington Society, and a good group of friends called the Graces and Disgraces.
He was also a member of the US Navy during the Korean War as a SeaBee. He helped build Subic Bay in the Philippines. He was also a member of Summit Heights United Methodist Church since the beginning in 1962.
A service will be held in James’ honor on Tuesday, April 11, at 2 PM at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. He will be entombed in Resthaven Memorial Park following the service.
