James “Don” Rickert Sr., 86, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018. He was born to the late William and Dorothy Rickert in Louisville, Kentucky on July 14, 1931. James proudly served in the United States Navy and later retired from the Naval Ordnance Station Louisville. He was also a member of St. Rita Catholic Church.
James was a devoted father, grandfather and friend and was an extremely kind man. His first wife, Mae Evans Rickert, and his second wife, Ann Stearman Rickert, precede James in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons: James Donald Rickert Jr. (Anita), and Stephen Rickert(Cathy); grandchildren: Aprile Rickert(Vladimir), Michael Rickert, Angelea Rickert; stepsons: Gary Stearman(Mitsy), and Joe Stearman(Paula); and a host of many other family members and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10am at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy., Louisville, KY 40219. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home in Okolona. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
