Jim was born to Robert J. and Bessie E. Quillman of Louisville, who preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Jerri; daughter, Jamie Barber; his grandchildren whom he adored, Hannah and Luke Barber; and sister, Barbara Quillman Crume.
Jim was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and University of Louisville. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Korea. He held management positions with Commonwealth Life Insurance, Farm Credit Services, and Kindred Healthcare. Jim served six years on the board of the Better Business Bureau and two years on the board of Walden Theatre. After retirement, he volunteered as a reading tutor at Chancey Elementary for seven years.
A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village. Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm on Tuesday.
