In July 2009, he retired from J.B. Swift Meat Packing Plant after 42 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby Lair; sister, Thelma Compton; and his brother, Royce Lair.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathleen J. Lair; 3 daughters, Patty Bray, Jamie Mullins, and Brandy Lair, all of whom live in Louisville, Kentucky; and 6 grandchildren.
His funeral service will be Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10:00 am at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services-Okolona. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1- 8 pm and Friday from 12-8 pm. Burial at Calvary Cemetery following the funeral service.
