THOMPSON, JAMES G. "GONZA," 83, passed away October 5, 2010.
He retired from the Jefferson County Police Department after 36 years of service. Gonza was a member of the FOP Lodge 14 and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Doris Feltner Thompson.
He is survived by his children, Paula Sue Thompson, James Aubrey Thompson (Laura) and George "Ben" Thompson; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A service honoring the life of Gonza will be held noon Saturday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8pm.
