James "Howard" Dukes, 96, of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, March 04, 2015.
Howard was a retired boiler operator for LG&E, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, a former longtime member of Lees Lane Baptist Church, sang in gospel quartets for over 50 years, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Turner Dukes.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Day (Earl); son, David Dukes (Barbara); grandchildren, Scott, Todd, Chris, Drew, and Billy; and 13 great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Friday.
