James Owen Dorsey, 87, entered into rest on Friday, April 30, 2021.
He was a retired machine operator for Reynolds/Alcan. Mr. Dorsey was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by daughters, Sherry Rogers and Debbie Welsh; and a son, Robbie Dorsey.
Mr. Dorsey is survived by his wife of 5 years, Mary Dorsey; daughters, Vickie Jenkins, Gayle Vincent (Roger) and Kina Lucas (Raymond); nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonita.
His funeral will be on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 1:30pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
