James was born on February 24th, 1958 in Burlingame, CA. He was known for his funny sense of humor, strong family values and being a faithful UK fan. He was always willing to share his wisdom, Give great advice and to encourage the best in others. His presence will be missed by many.
James wore many hats over the years career wise, But his most proud moment was his time spent serving in the United States Army. He was a proud member of B Company 2nd/325th Airborne Infantry 1st Platoon, 82nd Airborne Division. He was proud to call many others that served with him His brothers. At 50 years old, He earned his nursing degree from Spencerian College in 2008. He was proud to serve as a nurse and deeply cared about every patient he touched. He was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonials.
James was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Lois Black; His daughters, Christine Marshbank and Kelly Maynard (Matthew); His grandchildren, Jordan, Ivy and Andrew James; His dog & best friend, Marley; His brother, John Black and many more beloved family members.
He is preceded in death by His daughter, Heather Black; His mother, Lillie Mae Harris; His father, James Charles Black; A brother, Joseph Black and A sister, Dorothy "Pinky" Roberts.
Per His wishes, there will be no funeral service or memorial service. Cremation services are being provided by Evergreen Funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date to be announced by the family.
