She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1950.
As a member of Sts. Simon and Jude Church, she was an active member of their Women’s Club and in 1987 retired from being the schools only bus driver for 17 years.
She enjoyed being a part of the Dixie Homemakers of Jefferson County and a volunteer at the soup kitchens at the Cathedral and St. Vincent De Paul and craft club at Mary Queen of Peace.
Her and her late husband, Johnnie, were active for many years at the Epsworth walking track.
Jean enjoyed many years and many memories in Myrtle Beach, SC with all her family, also memories at the green house at Nolin Lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband John “Johnnie”; her parents, Lawrence and Loretta Stevenson; brothers Lawrence, Jr., Joe, Kenny; her sister, Delores Walker
She is survived by children Laura (Kurt) Lorenz, Doug (Sandra) Axman, and Dave (Carol) Axman; grandchildren Steven (Stephanie), Danny (Katie), Leanne, and Kerrie Lorenz; Tyler (Kelly), Casey (Anna Kate) Axman; Owen Axman. Great-grandchildren Kellen and Patrick Lorenz; Harper Axman
She is also survived by her brother Frank “Butch” Stevenson.

A Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am Saturday, May 14th at Sts. Simon and Jude Church, 4335 Hazelwood Avenue, Louisville, KY 40214, interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady and Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Louisville, KY on Thursday from 4-8 pm and on Friday from 12-8 pm.
