He was a proud UT graduate, a former Baptist minister, former director of Sullivan College, owner of Kentucky paving, member of the Lions Club International and an active member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.
Howard was preceded in death by his wife; Betty Edwards Cook, his parents; Charles and Geneva Cook, his brothers and their wives, Joe Carter Cook (Nancy) and David L. Cook (Ann).
Left to cherish his memory are 2 daughters, Karen Layman (Mark) and Kim Cook (Vicki) and his son, Kenneth Cook (Jackie); 2 granddaughter's, Kathleen Grubbs (David) and Allyson Layman; 1 great granddaughter Molly Grubbs and his wife Phyllis Delafield Cook.
A private burial for Howard will take place in Tennessee.
