He was a bar tender with the Owl Creek Country Club.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn; sons, Michael and Randy Thompson; and daughter, Paula Deck.
He is survived by a son, Horace Ray Thompson, Jr.; four grandchildren, Michelle Lockwood (Scott), Michael Thompson, Ryan Thompson and Wes Thompson; four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Travis, Lee, James, Bo and Lewis Thompson; and two sisters, Corrine Belcher and Pat Davenport; and his companion, Star.
His funeral will be on Thursday at 1pm at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3pm until 8pm on Wednesday.
