Born on Friday, November 3, 1933 in Louisville, Kentucky to parents, Herman H. and Marie Parsons Heins. He served his nation with pride and honor, a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters 502, Robinson – Plumb Lodge #266, F. & A. M., and member of Southeast Christian Church. Don retired as the Chief Plumbing Inspector for the City of Louisville.
Besides his parents, Herman and Marie Parsons Heins; his wife, Gladys Heins; son, David Heins; sisters, Rose Jean Godfrey, Mary Catherine Onkst and Dorothy Davis; and daughter – in – law, Kim Heins, preceded Don in his passing.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Daniel Ray Heins; grandchildren, Lauren Marie (Jeff) Peak, Andrew Scott (Kayla) Heins; great – grandchildren, Shelby, Jackson, Addie Kate and Olivia Claire; daughter – in – law, Karen Heins; multiple nieces & nephews; plus, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
