Henry Bryan Wallace, 53, died January 31 at his home in Prospect. Henry spent his whole life on Moncada Farm which gave him a deep love for the land and the Ohio River. Always the adventurous spirit, Henry was a top class kayaker in his youth and then graduated to stock car racing and Nascar. Later, when he was not fishing, camping or pursuing antique camper vans to restore, he built homes with his friend, Roy Hall, learned how to fly, and travelled regularly to Florida and The Netherlands, two places he cherished for their family connections. He was never happier than when out cutting hay with Jerry Tucker, the farm manager, or walking the dogs with his wife, Betsy, or visiting his mother at her home in Amsterdam.
Henry is survived by Betsy, his spouse, his mother Sonia, and his siblings: Leoni, Sonja, Naomi, Sharon and Carla.
We know that somewhere out there Henry is observing a groundhog make its way between the round bales, or searching for arrowheads on the banks of his beloved Ohio River at the edge of a fading day.
There will be a memorial at a future date.
