Helen A. Gianacakes

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Daughters of Penelope, and Ladies Society at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Gus Gianacakes.

She is survived by her children, George Gianacakes (Maria), Panayiota "Pixy" Jones (Ernie), and James Gianacakes; grandchildren, Alexandra, Eleni, Seraphina Gianacakes, Elena, Angela, Apollo Jones, and Dimitri Gianacakes; siblings, George Athanasakes (Marlene), Theda Denison, Ted Athanasakes (Mary), and Evelyn Hagias (Jim); and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10am at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, 3701 St. Michael Church Drive, Louisville, KY 40220, on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7:30pm with a Trisagion Memorial Service at 7:30pm on Monday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Highway. The family of Helen strongly expresses that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made out to St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church or Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 930 Ormsby Lane, Louisville, KY 40242.
