Hazel Miracle Owens, 90, joined her heavenly father Friday, November 16, 2018. She was raised in Bell County, KY but lived most of her life in Louisville. Her love for people and being active kept her involved in the community. She retired from A&P Grocery and then worked for Andy Frain Services where she enjoyed working UL basketball games and various conventions. She was honored with the Prestigious Rose Award for outstanding service by the Louisville Tourism Bureau. She was a strong woman who loved life and all it had to offer.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Owens, parents and brother, Chester Miracle. She is survived by her children, Kathy Reynolds (Mike) and Carol Dyer (Ed); granddaughters, Michelle Dyer Amshoff (Jay), Angie Reynolds Meiners (Mike), Andrea Reynolds Shearer (John), and. Pamela Dyer Brandon, 8 great grandkids; brother, John Miracle; and sister, Marie Buchanan. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church.
Funeral services will be at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, on Wednesday, November 21 with visitation from 11-2 pm, immediately followed by the funeral service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
