Born August 14, 1940 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, he passed away peacefully at home in Buckner, Kentucky after a round of golf, on February 7, 2024.
Harold graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1958, then joined the US Navy. He spent his enlistment at a communications station in Turkey, as a cryptologic technician. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he briefly owned and operated a gas station outside of Atlanta before working for Southern Bell, South Central Bell and AT&T in Atlanta GA, Bowling Green, and Louisville, KY, where he retired in 1989.
Harold loved spending time with family, playing pinochle, board games, working on puzzles, and watching the University of Kentucky men's basketball team play, and win! In his younger years he loved floating the Barren River with his father and brothers, and he was President of the local Spelunking club in Bowling Green where he led the rescue of a few young explorers lost in a cave.
He organized many annual golf trips with family and friends at courses throughout the southeast, he never met a golf course he didn't like. Up to the day he passed, Harold organized a weekly golf game at many of the local courses.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine (Harmon) Reynolds, daughter Theresa Lee (Reynolds) Ghent & Andrew, sons Harold Reynolds Jr & Chris (White), Darren Heilman, and Bryan Heilman & Shawn (Roberts). He also left behind 6 Grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren whom he cherished, including: Grandchildren - Megan (Ghent) Cherry, Sarah (Ghent) Angle, Christopher Reynolds, Amanda Reynolds, Breanna (Reynolds) Smitson and Rachel Heilman, Great-grandchildren - Mathew Angle, Benjamin Cherry, Abigail Cherry, Hailee Angle, Kylie Lewellen, and William Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Reynolds, mother Dorothy (Graham) Reynolds, brothers Jack Reynolds and Thomas Reynolds, as well as his first wife, Shirley (Gollihugh) Reynolds.
Harold was an amazing Son, Husband, Dad and Papa, he was loved by many and will be missed greatly.
A funeral service for Harold will be held on Tuesday, February 13th, at 2:00pm at Arch L Heady at Resthaven With a private burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00pm until service time at the funeral home.
