Harold Giles

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harold Denny Giles, age 84, of Lagrange, Kentucky on June 5, 2024. He was born on June 2, 1940, in Martel, TN. Denny was a graduate of Fern Creek High School and a retired truck driver for Motor Convoy/Ford Motor Company. He greatly enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach.

Denny was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Bette Giles, sons Denny Giles (Jacqui) and Darold Giles (Robin), daughter Kristi Sahms, grandchildren Brittany Giles, Sydney Giles, Logan Giles (Jena), great-granddaughter Amelia Giles, and granddogs Bennett, Stella, Cleo, Carson, and Gizmo. He is also survived by his sister Evelyn Newcomb and many nieces and nephews.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents James R. and Neva Giles, his first wife Mary Anna Giles, and his sisters Aileen Mayes, Thelma Marie Marion, and Constance Owen.

The family thanks Baptist Health Lagrange for their expert care and support during this difficult time. The staff were truly angels on earth.

A private memorial service will be held for family to honor his life and legacy. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Remembrances can be made through contributions to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana at 550 S. First Street, Louisville, KY 40202.
