I was so sorry to read about your Dad.  We were out of town when it happened but I wanted you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers.  I didn't know your Dad as well as your Mom but I know how special he was to all of you.

I had the privilege of taking care of Harold for the last few years of his life as his nurse. I knew as soon as I met him that we were kindred spirits,both of us vocalists and with a great love of music. I have a feeling he may have known my family, the Stoneciphers, who were big in the music scene here is Louisville,but he could never tell me due to his memory issues. Rest assured that whenever I was working ,we were listening to barbershop quartets or some sort of singalong,although he at that time preferred to direct than sing. Harold always had a quick smile, and was a total gentleman,even when flirting. We will miss him dearly here at Providence,but am quite sure he is in a better place,singing and performing with the angels.Thankyou for allowing me the honor of taking care of him. He made my job so much more enjoyable and he will not be forgotten. Condolences to all those who loved him

Harold, Norm and Shirley were my "double" cousins, sharing the exact same blood lines (Fow and Haag) where most cousins share just one line.  I will always remember all the wonderful family times our family shared.  I especially remember Christmas Eve at our home on Lydia St. where the whole family gathered.  I also remember all the family picnics we had every year for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day at Cherokee Park.  Harold, my Dad, Uncle Harold, Don, and several others would go to the park early and secure at least six picnic tables.  The entire day was spent with relatives and friends playing softball, horseshoes, cards, etc.  When it started to get dark, everything was gathered together and Harold, Norm, Shirley and the rest of the family would sing.  I can still hear the sounds of the music and laughter.  Another favorite memory is Thanksgiving Day and the Male/Manual football games.  Since some of us went to Male and some to Manual, there was always good natured teasing after the game.  I am so fortunate to be a part of this amazing family.  Harold, you will always be in my heart.  Thanks for the memories and helping to make many wonderful family times for all of us to cherish.

So sorry I won't be able to sing with the Thoroughbreds at Harold's funeral.  He was always such a pleasant person and gentlemen.

I was lucky and blessed to grow up in Germantown and within a block of Fows Grocery where Harold and his father along with other family members worked.  He was kind and patient with us, and is now in a better place.  God bless Harold and his family.

Luck gave me an opportunity to share the joy for living my Uncle had and to participate in several joyful times many people miss out on who do not have the companionship of family.  This was the backbone in his life.

One of many memories in my thoughts today was his organizational skills when 6 people in the same house had commitments on the same evening.  He would come home with a list of specific times each individual was expected to be in and out of the bath area down to the exact time to begin and vacate.

He was extremely patient and understanding of his wife, my mothers sister.  They had a wonderful chemistry together (which was definitely required for the lifestyle they led).  He was a saint to my Grandmother until her passing,  never complaining. Always willing to listen,  although you may be running to catch up while he was loading his tux or golf clubs, and holler the solution to your delimma out the window as he drove off on his way to do a quick song at the neighborhood nursing home on his way to the ballgame.  RIP

Harold Fow was one of the gentleman who made me feel welcome when I joined my father singing with the Louisville Thoroughbred Chorus (barbershop) in the 1970's. As a teenager, it was humbling to be given a slot on the risers and be included in their conversations. All of the long-term members I knew very well by face, if not personally, since my dad had already been a member (and the holder of championship metals) for over a decade. Mr. Fow will always have a special place in my heart  along with so many others who have gone on before, including my dad, Vance 0. Seneff. I wish I could join the chorus singing at his funeral in Louisville this Thursday, but he and his family will be in my thoughts all day.

Harold was a gentleman's gentleman.  He worked hard most all of his life and loved his family like no other.  Harold loved to sing.  He and I sang together for many years with the Thoroughbreds and on occasion in a quartet.  As I sit here trying to come up with some meaningful words, I can't help but think that Harold is rounding up some of his friends and putting a quartet together.  Rest in Peace H.. you're in good company now.
