He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, a 1987 graduate of Manual High School, and a die hard, lifelong U of L Basketball fan.
Mr. Recktenwald was preceded in death by his father, Michael Recktenwald, his brother, Eric Recktenwald, and his grandparents, Charles and Josephine Borntraeger and Edmund and Helen Recktenwald.
He is survived by his mother, June Recktenwald; three brothers, Kenneth, Stephen and Donald Recktenwald (Dana); two sisters, Kathleen Recktenwald and Theresa Sherman (Kevin); two nephews, Stephen Michael and Matthew Dale Recktenwald; and two nieces, Brianna Garner and Brittany Recktenwald.
The funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, with interment following in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting will be at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 8519 Preston Hwy., on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-8 p.m.
