Grace Gibson Mims

Grace Gibson Mims, 98, of Versailles, formerly of Louisville, and widow of George S. Mims, passed away in the early morning of July 16, 2011 at Taylor Manor Nursing Home, Versailles, KY. Grace was born to Dr. R.E. and Lizzie Gibson on September 4, 1912 in Highway, KY, Clinton County. She spent many years in Louisville and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and was a retired teacher with the Jefferson County School Board and a member of the Jefferson County Teacher’s Association.

She is survived by her son, Stuart Mims of Versailles, KY; grandchildren, James Mims, Amy Stephens and Bridgett Miller; three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; nephew, John Gibson of Highway, KY; nieces, Libby Spinks of Louisville, KY., Georgia Stockton of IL., and Hazel Cummins of Albany, KY.

Her Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY., with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. till service time at the funeral home.
