She was a retiree of General Electric, where she worked on the dishwasher assembly line, a member of Local 761, and found her spiritual home at St. Athanasius Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Gloria will be missed by her daughter, Amy Houchens (Stanley); grandchildren, Kristina Carpenter, Elizabeth Carpenter and Vincent Wells; great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Liam Melton; siblings, Ann Vanover (Ed), June Alcorn and Edward Payne.
Gloria was predeceased by her mother, Juniata Humphrey and father, Clyde Pennock.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 12 pm at Arch L. Heady Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-8pm and on Thursday from 10am until time of service.
