Mr. Montgomery was retired as a prominent homebuilder and developer, an avid horse owner and a World War II veteran. He also participated with the Bass Master Tournament and loved being a “people person”.
GA is survived by his wife, Sara; two sons, Donald A. Montgomery and Gary Montgomery (Jeaniene); a brother, Kenneth Montgomery; two sisters, Georgia Ann Briney and Norma Jean Blair; two grandchildren, Kelly DeSpain and Gary Wayne Montgomery; two step-granddaughters, Heather Miller and Megan Gibson; and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Jessica and Corey Despain and Austin Montgomery.
His funeral services will be 10am Saturday, November 3 at the Newburg Christian Church, 5225 Poplar Level Rd., with entombment following in Evergreen Cemetery. Visiting will be on Friday from 2pm until 8pm at the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8519 Preston Highway.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Newburg Christian Church.
