Gilbert was a retired Loan Services Representative for the Veterans Administration, a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, and a Navy veteran. He had a strong love for travel, and had adventures in many countries.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Tingle Scribner; and a brother, Clifton E. Scribner, Jr. He is survived by a son, Kevin Scribner; daughters Judy Scribner-Kammer of Michigan and Terri Scribner-Morris (Doug) of Ontario; grandchildren, Sarah (Brad), Jeffrey (Michelle) Greg (Ellen), and Megan (Tyler); and great-grandchildren Mark, Becca, Gabby, Pepper, Levi, Ethan, and Paisley.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am til 1:30 pm Tuesday at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., followed by the funeral service at 1:30. Burial will be at Cave Hill Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society, Planned Parenthood, McMaster Children’s Hospital (Ontario), or The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada.
